[20:48] * Now talking in #c64friends [20:48] * Topic is 'World of Commodore 2008 Today! http://www.tpug.ca/woc/ We Adore Our C64 = = and Q-Link!!' [20:48] I gave up computers for about 2 yers, about late ~93 to early ~95. [20:48] Howdy folks [20:48] Hey snoggy [20:49] So, how did WOC go today? [20:49] hey Snogpitch [20:49] good from what little I heard [20:49] It didn;t help that back then I found the Amiga to be very combersome for BBS'ing compared the the C128 I had upgraded from [20:49] had a web cam up for a while [20:49] rerum: I gave up on BBSing about 1998-99 or so [20:50] * redrumloa nods [20:50] Though I do call some BBS's still [20:50] LR's bbs has been down about three years [20:50] The last ~2 years I really didn't even go on much [20:50] That is the last bbs I called. [20:50] Snogpitch : the after party's goin' on now [20:50] al: link to cam at WoC? [20:50] yes [20:51] oh [20:51] down now [20:51] How late are they sticking around the church? [20:51] Or are they still at dinner? [20:51] was: http://www-acad.sheridanc.on.ca/~ian/tpug/woc.html [20:52] after party [20:52] I've been working on getting my RamLink back into shape after the September storms. [20:53] Even reset the time, it said it was 2004! [20:53] * ChanServ sets mode: +v Harlock [20:54] Are they going to be doing any thing more fun with WoC? [20:54] prolly tomorrow [20:55] * Harlock is back from woc, after 4.5 hours of curb crawlers [20:55] I would think not, since it is held in a church? [20:56] Well if any one sees this from WoC, have a great time there. [20:56] What do you mea by "curb crawlers?" [20:56] yes was in church basement, some had to move cars cause of funeral too [20:57] well took 90 minutes to drive in this morning, left at 4:30 in afternoon and just got home now, 4 and half hours later [20:57] oh noes [20:57] lol [20:57] :) unplanned funeral? [20:57] It snowed here in Cincinnati today, about an inch of accumulation [20:57] I guess so [20:57] :) Now that adds an interesting dimension [20:58] spent much time at woc lurking about brains table for obvious reasons, so did several others [20:59] Rob Adlers had to double-check that the funeral was over before he started his MSSIAH demo [20:59] ya, that could ruffle some folks [20:59] lol [21:00] Why did he have to double check? Creepy music?? [21:00] which led to innumerable jokes about the Messiah... [21:00] Harlock: Brain @ ECC had a lot of people at his table. [21:00] heh, know what MSSIAH is? [21:00] I think ShadowM and Snogpitch can confirm that I think [21:01] Shadow: tell me? [21:01] Snog: its probably a good thing they cleared out and let the funeral go on. [21:01] *cleared out a little bit and were respectful to the funeral people [21:01] next generation of Prophet64 [21:02] hmm. [21:02] Never heard of it. [21:02] Sounds interesting [21:02] yes I saw the mssiah demo rob adlers did [21:02] ell oh you dee [21:02] seeing it and hearing it in use gives much better impression of it than just reading about it in websites [21:03] yeah, he really knows what to do with it [21:03] Loud? [21:03] ;-p [21:03] * antares51 (~antares51@NewNet-7BF0E445.om.om.cox.net) has joined #c64friends [21:03] * ChanServ sets mode: +v antares51 [21:03] wait for the pixtures :) [21:04] Shadow: Which sites has it been talked on? [21:04] Messiah thing? [21:04] * weirdwolf thinks he needs to get back on the commodore forums [21:06] http://www.8bitventures.com/mssiah/ [21:07] Anyone have a working A3000t power supply for sale? [21:07] thanks ShadowM [21:07] no, you just need to learn to use Google [21:07] :) duh. [21:07] Yeah, I should have used google [21:07] Shadow: I did use google, no A3000T power supplies for sale in the search [21:07] I was googling and multi-tasking other things. [21:08] Oh, ww [21:08] looks like Q needs a reset :( [21:08] snogpitch: yep it does. [21:08] * lordronin (~lordronin@7A1E55C2.68A28F0F.E153056D.IP) has joined #c64friends [21:08] * ChanServ sets mode: +o lordronin [21:08] Hoi gang [21:08] Howdy lordronin [21:09] Have not seen q in two or three weeks? [21:09] oh no. [21:09] Hoi Snogpitch [21:09] LR? [21:09] nah it can't be me [21:09] How could you send me such WONDERFUL pics? [21:09] For a while it wasn't connecting to irc... [21:10] Snog: does it need a kickboot? [21:10] In reference to q-link bot. [21:10] it needs a reset at the moment, can't even connect to people connection [21:10] You mean of the kitties or the SKS weirdwolf? [21:11] :) oh, I'll let you select? [21:12] So yeah got that camera that puts pic to 3 1/2" disk. You know taht the FD will see that in GeoDos {SEG} [21:12] Oh well, it'll give me the opportunity to continue working on the RamLink [21:12] Snog: hope you get your ramlink working [21:12] It's working, just very little on it at the moment [21:13] LR: I did like the shop pick of you holding that nice black colored thing. [21:14] Yeah that is going to #30 in payments. [21:14] Back in September, when Ike came thru, and took power out for 4 days, all the RamLink contents are now gone with it...decided to rebuild the directories tonight [21:18] Probably won't do the 128 directories, since only the 64 is hooked up to it at the moment. [21:18] Snog: ahh, hope it works out. Have not used my ramlink in 5 years I think [21:19] It's very handy paired with the SCPU [21:20] boots up Novaterm in a couple seconds [21:21] :) That is how it should be? [21:21] Booting up C= stuff in seconds [21:21] * Harlock saw schema loading stuff fast on an ide 64 today [21:22] Ya, that it does [21:23] at least we're not short of decent storage options [21:23] Only thing I use the IDE64 anymore is to access the CD-ROM [21:29] And that is few and far between now that I have Brains uIEC [21:30] you got CF only or CF & ide? [21:32] Just the CF, since it's 2gb I copied a good chunk of the CDROMs that I use [21:32] * antares51 (~antares51@NewNet-7BF0E445.om.om.cox.net) has left #c64friends [21:33] ok, one I got today is like that but the SD card version he's just done [21:34] * jerrykurtz (~IceChat7@NewNet-D774E6C4.columbus.res.rr.com) has joined #c64friends [21:36] Ya, SD will be the next one I get, one of these days [21:36] * gusd (gusd@NewNet-3A2C140D.cpe.net.cable.rogers.com) has joined #c64friends [21:37] Howdy gusd [21:37] hey there... [21:40] its a church... basement [21:40] unfortinately, they had a funeral upstairs today... was a little weird. [21:40] jerry: sorry, I did not get to see you @ ECCC in Chicago. [21:40] How late are they going to be there? [21:41] afterward is church basement? I didn't stay that long [21:41] no.. sorry, [21:41] i think it was chinese buffet [21:41] i didn't go to eccc... [21:42] oh, I wish you had come. [21:42] :) [21:42] yea, me too, but my work life leaves very little time for travels [21:43] oh? [21:43] Sorry to hear that. [21:47] they're packing up at the church now, then after-party here at the hotel [21:48] How big is the hotel room or are they taking over the lobby? [21:49] conference room downstairs at hotel [21:53] * AlexB2 (~AlexB2@58DFCF61.F6ADC4C6.AA05C54F.IP) has joined #c64friends [21:53] Howdy AlexB2 [21:53] Hi [21:53] Hey alex [21:54] scored an obscure assembler at WoC [21:54] Gus, you here? [21:56] MICOL machine language development system (for '64) [21:57] Never heard of it [21:57] well, he did say it was obscure :) [21:58] I vaguely remember hearing the name [21:58] I have an original of "dr. assembler" for vic & 64, [21:58] '84, but quite sophisticated; macros, custom editor, pseudo-ops... [21:58] is a bit weird seeing assembler in basic [21:58] yo [21:58] alex, that was fast [21:59] mant assemblers used the BASIC editor [21:59] many [21:59] I'm on my blackberry! [22:07] The 128 has a reset button that can be very useful in recovering a program. If the computer seems to lock up and RUN/STOP-RESTORE does not return you to ready mode, hold down RUN/STOP and press the reset button located on the right side of the computer. This operation resets the 128 and places you in the built-in machine language monitor. To exit the monitor and return to BASIC, type X and... [22:07] ...press RETURN. Try to list the program; if it can be listed, save a backup copy immediately. [22:07] * ShadowM1 (~ShadowM@FCCFFB9B.F8773833.78169CC.IP) has joined #c64friends [22:07] had no idea that would put me in the monitor and not wipe anything out [22:07] whew..
