He/she will bring it along. [22:46] Good evening all. The Original Star Trek came on featuring the introduction of Kahn. [22:46] US mail gets to/from Toronto quite fast. Can't remember what the price is at the moment. Been some time. Strange ones that have slots on one side to hold extra disks. Easiest on the hands to use out of the 4 that I use. [22:55] oh, hi weirdwolf, didn't see you there [22:56] have you tried the new opencbm Linux release? [22:56] I paid the U.S. Postal Service the big $9 for Priority Mail to Joe. Looks as if that $9 didn't buy me speed of delivery. [23:00] Depends on the carrier [23:01] ShadowM: no, I kinda busy with a move and several other issues atm [23:01] Have not had time to play with it. [23:02] okay robert! [23:32] there is a close up of a rabbit on the cover. [23:32] Yes, but what type of bunny is that? [23:33] Oh sorry, its a dwarf holland lop. A mix of a netherland dwarf and an english lop. [23:33] There you go. [23:33] on this dual SID sx64 I found something a bit odd on the audio its putting out [23:34] My sister has a bunny, too. Found it a local park but it was domesticated already [23:34] Odd? How so? [23:34] I should stereo sidify my SX. [23:34] basically the audio coming out has negative peaks. [23:34] someone reverse the polarity? [23:34] Boing! Negative peaks? Would that mean no sound at those peaks? [23:35] negative peak is a flat.... hehehe [23:35] eeek.. let me make an image :) [23:35] right, its not that. [23:36] give me about 5 minutes. [23:36] ahh I got it. [23:37] I'll upload the audio example so you can hear it as well as see what it looks like [23:38] tiff OK? or jpg? [23:38] Either. [23:38] OK, uploading [23:41] heh, william shatner hocking WoW. [23:41] what a downgrade from selling vic 20's [23:42] hah [23:42] rbt, we tried to get a gig on Second Life (as if I ever played it) [23:42] we were rejected. ;-) [23:42] He also advertised PETs. [23:44] http://sdf1.org/curiosity/sx64/sx64-output.jpg [23:44] Dec. 9-10 I will be in the Los Angeles area, meeting up with C= users and on Sunday, attending the Jules Verne Film Festival with special honoree, William Shatner. [23:44] http://sdf1.org/curiosity/sx64/monosynth.mp3 [23:44] that is what the output looks like, and then what it sounds like [23:44] Unknown whether I can make it to the chat on that weekend. [23:44] What is the Jules Verne Film Fest? [23:45] all Verne, all the time? [23:45] i see... the bias of the output is towards the negative side... [23:45] oh sorry, its 'monodemo.mp3' not 'monosynth.mp3' [23:45] exactly, that is what I mean.. the bias. [23:45] Well, it deals with sci-fi and fantasy. [23:45] that is the output of both SIDs btw. [23:45] one sid per channel [23:46] I'm using a stereo 3.5mm jack which I installed on the back of the SX64 chassis. [23:46] I'd have to open it up, but I believe I used the same ground with the leads going to the L/R tips [23:47] it sounds OK, I'm just wondering if I have it wired up wrong. [23:47] or if its just what I'm going to see from the SID2SID [23:47] Just go to http://www.julesvernefestival.com , Snog. [23:47] as I look at it, it seems like something is clipping the max + voltage [23:48] not being identical is pretty common, too [23:48] the changes in the sound are all done using the knobby pot box. [23:48] yeah, one is definitely quieter. [23:48] the filters are really not matched at all. [23:49] I tried replacing the capacitors, which actually improved the sound quite a bit. [23:49] the sid chip stacked on top in both my 128 and 64c both have a less muted sound... more treble. [23:49] but again, these are 6581s :) [23:49] yea, all of mine are 6581's [23:50] my 64c has a 1984 board in it [23:50] But I did my own homebrew dual sid setup [23:50] I think the setup is usable as it stands, just wondering if there is something simple I've over looked. [23:50] well, my dad helped me with the first one 15 years ago [23:50] yeah the stacking trick. [23:56] Hello Snog [23:56] well, the output sounds fine... definately more "bright" on the right channel, just like all of mine (and yea, i replaced the capacitors) [23:56] what's been happenin'? [23:57] yeah, its also quite a bit louder too. [23:57] yea, i think the original parts on the 64/128/sx/etc are just "old" and maybe replacing them with "new" parts would brighten up the other channel... [23:58] ya know, the caps, transistor, resistors, etc [23:58] right, that is basically the plan. [23:58] make sure you use big 1 watt resistors!!! gotta make it look like a hack job... ;) [23:59] hah. [23:59] I mean, if huge muffler tips make cars faster.... why not.
